Senior Health & Safety and CDM Consultant

Susan Jeff is a senior health and safety and CDM consultant holding chartered status across four professional institutions: CMIOSH, MCIOB, CMaPs, and CABE (holding both C.Build E and MCABE designations). She advises construction clients, developers, and design teams on CDM 2015 compliance, Principal Designer duties, and building safety — bringing both technical depth and strategic leadership to the projects and organisations she works with.

Susan's expertise spans the full spectrum of construction health and safety practice. She has extensive experience designing and embedding Principal Designer services within multidisciplinary consultancies, advising on compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022, and developing health and safety management systems aligned to ISO 45001. She is equally at home advising at board level on governance and culture as she is working directly with design teams on practical risk management.

Susan's most significant project credential is her role as Lead Principal Designer at BDP on the Palace of Westminster Restoration and Renewal Programme — one of the most complex and high-profile construction undertakings in the UK. Managing design risk on a Category 1 listed heritage asset in continuous parliamentary occupation demanded an unusually high degree of technical skill, stakeholder management, and judgement. Beyond Westminster, she has led health and safety functions across a wide range of sectors including commercial, residential, education, and heritage, and has held director and associate director level positions shaping H&S strategy across multidisciplinary practices.

Susan is an active contributor to industry discourse on evolving CDM and building safety practice.
